Albert Levy's Architectural Photographic Series is the bigger- and best - visual record of the key architecture of the United States between 1870-1890 - and we have found that he expanded it to Europe -.He took pictures of the most relevant and new buildings from an architectural - and historical - point of view; he gave detailed notations on the architect, the owner and the location of each building.
There are at least 42 series (59) with aproximately 30-40 pictures each. These would mean nearly 1000 pictures. According to Albert Levy's catalogue he made 673 pictures of the United States until 1887. According to the book "American Architectural Books, A List of Books, Portfolios and Pamphlets Published in America before 1895" (58) there are 33 series listed in that book before 1895.
Due to these series, Albert Levy is referenced as counterpart for Alinari in the United States (13). Below you can see the name of the series as it appears recorded at each holders' archive:

- Having a look at some of the photos of "Albert Levy's Architectural Photographic series" - see the Ryerson & Burnham Art and Architectural Archive of the Art Institute of Chicago in the web for more photos by Albert Levy (look for "Levy") - we can find that some of them are in "L'Architecture Americaine", which indicates that this album may be a collection of the "best of photographic series" to show his work in Europe (because the editor of L'Architecture is French). As this album was edited in 1886 (19), some of the dates of the photographic series above could not be correct.
